So, As I said I want our lovely lil blog to be a DIY site as well...
1st on the agenda.... Ummmm well since the closet blew up... i mean fell to the floor, it gets 1st dibs!
So what to do 1st? We live in a home that has press board in the closet and if you know anything about press board you know it does not hold any weight. WE David has already fixed this closet 7 8 no 9 times. So with a lil advise from the pops (my dad) We used his proform joint compound to fill in all the leftover holes, let dry 24-48 hrs and then used a hand sander to sand the walls with a very fine sandpaper.
Then we took a stud-finder and a level to mark off the studs and where we would hang our supports on because we would hate for the closet to blow up yet again!:)
We were able to find 4 studs to support the closet by.
We then drilled NEW holes not already placed in the top beam that runs horizontally in the closet, because the holes already in the bar did not match our stud placement in the closet... PROBLEM SOLVED -- DRILL NEW ONES!
Once the header bar was placed we had too make sure the bars that the racks would actually hang from were the proper space apart. (a pic of the hubbs taking care of that)
Oh yeah... By the way we purchased this entire closet system of $90.00 at LOWE's our Favorite store!
Another pic of the hubbs 2nd portion of the rack in place and progress made... we're on the home stretch!
WORKIN' HARD! We supported the vertical bars all the way down the wall with screws into the studs!
Ta'Da! Racks hung!!! (Very easy) Bars UP! (easy too)... Clothes organized UMMM..... hardest part!
We hope your closet never explodes, blows up...etc. But if it does! Here's hopin' this is helpful!
Biggg Props to the dad! (for brains) And the Hubbs (the muscle)!
